White House Attack—Lessons Learned

As this Network World article discusses, as with any attack, the recent White House hack is a serious incident. While we don’t know the source of this attack yet, the odds are that it started with a web-based attack and was highly targeted. The key takeaway is that businesses—just like the White House—need to do a better job of isolating their web activity from their vulnerable and valuable IT infrastructure. This also means hiding identities online to divert much of the targeting.
